Rake “N” Sweep
Parts list: GardenBag, Dustpan, 2 Rods, 2 Shaft Collars, 1 Hex Key, 1 Tubing Connector, 2 Vinyl Caps
- Insert each rod end (the ends without metal rings), into the black tubing connector (1a) until they are about 1/4” from each other as shown
- Slide the connected rods through the inside hem opening of the GardenBag (2a) (away from grommet) and out the other opening.
- Insert the rods through the raised holes on the dustpan (as shown) until the metal ring ( A ) touches. Slide the shaft collars (B) over the rod ends up against the underside of the dustpan and tighten set screw with hex key. (If you need to loosen the set screw to slid on the shaft collar, take care not to lose it.) Slip one bag grommet over a rod end ( C ) and shaft collar ( B ) and pull bag evenly over rods. Set dustpan on end (attached grommet side down). While slightly bowing the dustpan (smooth side curved out) slide remaining grommet over the other rod end and shaft collar. Slide vinyl caps ( C ) over rod ends. Tuck any exposed draw-cord into open seam of hem
- How to remove Reusable GardenBag. Do not remove shaft collars. Set dustpan on end. Slightly bow dustpan (smooth side curved out), slip off bag grommet from rod end. Pull one rod from the connector tubing and simply slide the bag off. Reverse procedure to reattach.
- Assemble the triangular shaped frame as in steps 1 & 3 above without the GardenBag. Fan open a 33 to 39 gallon plastic drawstring bag
- Lay the bag down on a flat surface and slide the assembled frame into the bag (arch first and dustpan edge up) until the dustpan is 2-3 inches inside the bag. With your thumb shielding the black tubing connector from the plastic bag, pull the arch toward you (as shown) until it is 2-3 inches from the edge of the bag, and release. Make sure the rod ends on the underside of the dustpan have engaged the bag behind the drawstring. You might need to make minor adjustments to the bag, but that’s all there is to it.
