Description
The dustpan with a bag attitude! Rake “n” Sweep is a 40 gallon reusable bag attached to a dustpan. The frame will also attach to plastic drawstring trash bags. Light and easy to load because of the flat edge. You hold the Rake “n” Sweep firmly against the ground with your foot, freeing both of your hands to hold a rake or broom handle. Clean up quickly, effortlessly, and without bending over as with dustpans, leaf scoops or claws. Once it’s loaded, you can pick it up from a comfortable knee height. The frame size opening fits perfectly into recycling green carts for spill-free results. It’s up to 20 times faster than using a standard dustpan and broom. Hang on a wall for trash or recycling receptacle. Helpful when pruning roses – thorns drop harmlessly into open bag. Just hold the Rake “n” Sweep by the dustpan and point the bag under the cane that you’re cutting. Bag collapses and folds for easy storing. I’ve used a Rake n Sweep for two years and it works exactly as advertised. I can rake leaves and clippings into it and carry them right to my composter. Two things could be better: The instructions are poorly written and illustrated and you’ll end up “winging” your assembly technique. The instructions aren’t posted on their site although there are “supplemental instructions,” but they only deepen the mystery. The other thing that a gardener would want to know is that the nylon bag is not as tough as the sticks and clippings that you’ll want to put into it. My bag now has some holes in it which I’ll need to patch before they grow larger. That said, it is a backsaver and a good option on the right day.

This is great for leaves and I love that it’s reusable. Our pine needles are a little tough on it though. I’m afraid it might tear after a while. It makes raking up the yard much faster.

I have been using the Rake and Sweep now for a couple years and today while raking up a large pile of oleander clipping I decided it was long past time for commenting on its usefulness. There are several factors that make this product worth purchasing.
1. Large bag with a good flat dust bin edge that can handle a very substantial amount of clippings which greatly reducing the need for bending.
2. The bag itself is durable, it can handle clippings being pushed in without tearing and doesn’t get saturated by water unlike my cotten toro bag.
3. A job that used to take me an hour and a tired back now gets done it 15 minutes – pain free!!
On the surface it may seem somewhat pricy but if your time and back are valuable to you I would highly recommend purchasing this product.
